Halloween?

As I page through the latest junk mail I see it is Halloween time again.

Some of the items on the photos make me close my eyes. I cannot believe that adults would motivate children to buy stuff like this. A holiday with a name so holy, being so evil.

And it is all about money-  $80 billion dollars (excluding the millions made in the rest of the world).

Sacrificing truth for the god of money.

I would rather have children put on all the armour that God supplies.

In this way you can take a stand against the devil's strategies. For this is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world.

For this reason, we must take up all the armour that God supplies. Then you will be able

to take a stand during these evil days. Once you have overcome all obstacles, you will be

able to stand your ground.

So then, take your stand! Fasten truth around your waist like a belt. Put on God's approval

as your breastplate.

Put on your shoes so that you are ready to spread the Good News that gives peace.

In addition to all these, take the Christian faith as your shield. With it you can put out all

the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Also take salvation as your helmet and the word of God as the sword that the Spirit

supplies.

Pray in the Spirit in every situation. Use every kind of prayer and request there is. For the

same reason be alert. Use every kind of effort and make every kind of request for all of

God's people.

Do not fear evil, for JESUS is the victor, Just live the TRUTH.

Where are God when there is a storm?

A friend told me of vision: there was  a storm brewing above the country - with dark
rolling clouds...

(I thought to myself I can relate to that),

And above the clouds was a man on a horse.

This made me go back to the book of Revelations.  "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called faithful and true."

It struck me how many times  the Bible calls Him faithful.

FAITHFUL

God is more awesome than all who surround him.

He is mighty, and His faithfulness surrounds him.

Today I choose to make Your faithfulness known through all generations.

God is faithful in your life - He will establish His plans for you.

You just be faithful in loving him.

Who do you immitate ?

Jesus is talking to the Jews...telling them that the truth will set them free.

They were furious - we have never been  slaves of anyone

but Jesus does not give up

everyone who sins is a slave to sin

now a slave has no permanent place in the family

but a son belongs to the family forever

so if the Son sets you free from sin - you are free indeed

free to serve God the Father as true sons

after all our true Father is the one we imitate and obey.

Fabulous Fragrance

My friend, Christ has brought you back to God by dying in his physical body. He did this so that you could come into God's presence without sin, fault, or blame.

You are holy in God's sight, without blemish, free from accusation.

This is on the condition that you continue in faith without being moved from the solid foundation of the hope that the Good News contains.

Your intention or consciousness is not sin but loving him, bearing fruit. Do not think of yourself unworthy.

God uses us to show others what it means to know Christ. It is like a fragrance that fills the air.

We are the aroma of Christ - not of ourselves.

Live the kind of lives that prove you belong to the Lord. Then you will want to please him in every way as you grow in producing every kind of good work by this knowledge about God.

O Wake up, North Wind. South Wind, blow on my garden; fill the air with fragrance. Let my lover, the Lord, come to his garden and eat the best of its fruits.

The burgalary

They say (whoever they may be) that people usually write out of experience...just the
same with me. Sunday evening I was standing in front of an open gate and an open front door. Now this is not open door that the Lord gave me, but one forced open by thieves.

I always wondered if I would turn to Jesus in times of crisis. Well this was a time to prove what was on the inside of me. From the time we heard the news we started praying in tongues and thanking God for His goodness. The world would call us a peculiar people.

Jesus' words become a reality for me as he says:"Stop storing up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moths and rust destroy and thieves break in and steal. Instead, store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust don't destroy and thieves don't break in and steal. Your heart will be where your treasure is."

Even though we may feel sad about things that have sentimental value, we realise that treasures is in doing the will of our Father not in worrying about material things and taking revenge. For the Bible  says: Don't take revenge, dear friends. Instead, let God's anger take care of it. After all, Scripture says, "I alone have the right to take revenge. I will pay back, says the Lord."

Have you experienced theft and how did it affect you?
