The power of denomination

                                                                                                         The power of denomination?

I heard a story of a man that was a catholic and then converted to Christianity and today he is Islam. This is certainly not one of Christianities success stories. We would prefer not to hear about it.

You see one of our biggest problems is pride and it usually manifest in our denominationalism - in segregation between them and us. How tragic that in one of Jesus' greatest prayers recorded He prays for unity…that they might be one. But we are more concerned about our church. About not being left behind in the race for numbers filling our seats on a Sunday. And that numbers are not the lost… we have shift focus from the great commandment to our great commission…our church. Not being left behind in the worldwide church vibe, the latest and greatest happenings. The next program that must entertain the people. What is the Church around the corner doing?
In all of this we forget JESUS builds HIS church – not us, the church does not belong to us. We are only co-workers...telling others about our freedom found in Christ Jesus.

Pray for the church, that she might be one – one with God – one with His purpose - Saving Souls.
(We would appreciate your comments/ideas)
