New year always brings new things. It can be new experiences, new friendships,
new circumstances. New sounds exciting - like new shoes. Beautiful to look at
until you start to wear them...ouch.
When God gives us an assignment (or a calling, or
a job) it always sounds exciting in the
beginning, and then reality sets in. That is when we realize that life
is about living and that we tend to romanticise it.
When we realise that life is not 'a rose garden', not
always easy, that is when we must fix our eyes on Jesus as we run this race of
life because if we fix our eyes on our circumstances we will not make it.
I encourage you today to fix your eyes on Jesus,
and not on your circumstances for He is the author and finisher of our faith.
