Through the Bible, we see that God wants’ to stand in relationship with his children and then he shows up and provide for them in their situation.
Abraham’s decision to do God’s will and not his own had an impact for generations to come. To this day we are called children of Abraham when we believe in Jesus Christ.
We also don’t know the long term effects that our decisions will have. Like Abraham, we must serve God and his purpose. If we put our trust in Him, He will show up in our lives and will be our provision. God can take something that look like a bad thing and turn it around for our blessing. (Rom 8)
- Hebrews 10:36 says; you need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
- For we want to be like Jesus – doing the will of the father, not our own will.
- How can we do God’s will? By asking Him to will and to work in us, according to His good purpose. (Phil2:13)
Let’s put our own expectations on the background and focus on something bigger than ourselves: God and his will.
