Lost?

My friends were packing the other day. Moving to another country is a big thing. All the boxes were neatly stacked – but I can tell you everything was in a chaos. The boxes may seem neat on the outside – but inside of them the kitchen were packed in 15 different boxes...even if you write kitchen on the outside, you still don’t know where to find specific stuff. You can feel overwhelmed by this transition – standing in a place of nothingness.
Sometimes we all come to a place of nothingness in our lives.
No matter how saved we are, how righteous God made us, what Jesus did for us, we just feel empty and small and full of doubt.
The human soul is after all still human while alive. And we still lives in a fallen world.
We all come to a place of dimmed emotions, no vibrant colourful happiness – but existence dragging itself through the day. There are many things to blame for this...the kids, the marriage, the money or lack thereof, the enemy, our thoughts. And maybe there is some truth in all of this. People (not in this place of nothingness) eagerly offer many solutions to this situation you may find yourself in. Telling you to do this or do that, when you feel like doing nothing at all.
The good news is that God will not drop you – even if you don’t do a thing.
He knows that every once in a while we experience transition as we go through a time of silent growth – experiencing nothingness.
In the Old Testament God – knowing that we are human – offers to be with us through the fire and the water. Jesus in the New Testament says – I will be with you. And this is a good encouraging thought.
But you still stand in a place of nothingness, so what shall you do?
  1. Be sure to have someone who can pray for you. This is a must have for every one of us. Someone you can trust and ask for prayer when you need it most.
  2. Just sit in the presence of God – say nothing – He understands. God knows us better than we know our self. He doesn’t need our performance, He just wants our presence.
  3. Listen to the words of uplifting Christian music. The words around you, forms the atmosphere around you – in times when you are silent, good music will help a lot.
Even this will pass and you will receive strength as you just sit in God’s presence. It is OK to be in a place of nothingness. No performance on your side can add to your salvation. Put your trust in God to fight even this fight for you – your only work is to believe He loves you.
Isa 43:2
