Must Christians become Jews?

Are we as Christians to become Jews? and live by Jewish customs and laws?

Today I decided that the word of truth must speak not my own wise and persuasive words - but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power - so that your faith may not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

Paul is speaking...

 

For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God

violently and tried to destroy it.

But when He who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace,

was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I

did not immediately consult with anyone...Later...

 

But when I saw that Cephas' conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to

Cephas before them all, "If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can

you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?"

 

We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners;

yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?

Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the

law, or by hearing with faith—

just as Abraham "believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"?

 

So do you need Jewish customs and rituals OR do you need Jesus Christ, faith and the Spirit?

Be set free in the Name of Jesus Christ!
