Can you relate to this?
The small child standing in front of you – conflict in their eyes of wanting to please you and doing their own thing.

Any person who is a parent or works with children will know that there are days when children are more lovable than others - that is if we see them through the lens of do's and don't s. Our expectations and their response determine if we are pleased with them or not.

And although the do's and the don't s are part of raising a child, the relationship with the child far outweighs the short-term mistakes and wrong behaviour.

God looks at us in the same way. We are His workmanship. The people He has created and our relationship with Him far outweigh the short-term mistakes and wrong behaviour. He sees us through the lens of love - because HE IS LOVE. He showed us mercy and grace even when we were dead in our sins. Because He loved us, He saved us and will always want to save us!

Just as relationship far outweighs behaviour, God's grace, mercy and love far outweigh our sin.

Don't you want to come to Him today just as you are, not based on do's and don't s, but because He loves you and wants a relationship with you?

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace, you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:4‭-‬5 ESV
