Long, long ago...
It has been thousands of years since the first
outpouring of the Holy Spirit. And today we celebrate once again.
The disciples locked themselves in the upper room.
To scared to come out. They did not fear a virus, but the Pharisees and the
Roman soldiers.
Regardless of their fear...they prayed and waited
for the outpouring of the promise. Jesus
said He will send them the Promise of the Father and they believed Him. The Holy
Spirit, who will empower them, guide them, walk beside them and who will be
with every child of God at the same time. The person and the power of the
Spirit of God would we available to every Christian.
After thousands of years, that has still not
changed. The Holy Spirit is still with us, we can still wait on Him and He will
fill us.
Prayer : Father help me to understand the
principle of waiting on you, so that I will wait without tiring.
Act 1:5
For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy
Spirit a few days from now."
Act 1:6
Now those who had gathered together began to ask Jesus, "Lord, is
this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?"
Act 1:7
He answered them, "It is not for you to know what times or periods
the Father has fixed by his own authority.
Act 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you
will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of
the earth."
Thank you, Jesus, for making the way, being the Way, for us and for sending the Holy Spirit to guide us. We love you, Lord, and bring you praises!
