In
the book of Matthew we read the story of the man going on a journey. For some
reason
he decided to give his workers some money. And we notice that to each was
given according to his ability, only what he could handle.
Instinctively the first
two people put their money to work and doubled it.
Much to the delight of
their boss, who praise them and make them partners.
The principle is clear: they doubled what they received
and the master was pleased.
This
could be a principal for our abilities, our lives and our money, as this
represent both original or
acquired, natural or spiritual.
So this can
mean your finances as well.
What if, when you receive
money, you double it before spending or tithing or sowing?
Think how much more you can give
if you doubled your money, keep the original capital and spend, sow and tithe
from the interest!
You can then spend, sow and tithe
indefinitely from that original capital!
(this does not mean that you are not free to tithe, give or spend of it
in the first place or as the Holy Spirit leads you)
Prov
3 says honour the Lord with thy substance -meaning wealth/more than enough and
your first fruits.
It is
interesting to realise that first fruits in the old testament can have two
meanings : hasty fruit and secondly a most important thing.
In
the new testament the term first fruit is only used in the context of people
being redeemed unto God (sacrifice unto God).
